Been missing my blue/orange mandarin for almost a MONTH, really had me down due to waiting for ever to get my tank seeded with pods and building a sump and fuge with the purpose of growing pods for the mandarin.... Did a water change today and hear a splash coming from the overflow after vacuuming it out and boom there's the little guy splashing around... Needless to say I'm shocked that it's alive then go into Macgyver mode trying to figure out how the hell I'm going to get it out... After bending a net to fit in sideways in the overflow and a handle off an algae scrubber i coaxed it into the net and back put it back in the display.... Sorry for the run on, but that made my day!! Haha

Nice save!. Next time just pull your stand pipe and flush him into a waiting net in your sump.

Good call!!! That would of been way easier and probably less stressful to the fish..

I think it depends. I had an outbreak of vermatids in my tank last year and remember cleaning my durso screen... its was sharp and painful. I imagine it could be like keelhauling but the flush technique is what alot of people use.

It was cool finding him. I felt so bad when I couldn't find him and it was bugging me not knowing what happened. I guess now I know, and have to make a screen for my tank to prevent it from happening again.
