I'm skeptic; very skeptic. Saving a few pennies on this hobby by accepting a potentially large amount of risk is something I try to avoid. Who knows what contaminants this GFO might have...

All the more reason to be skeptic.

that's a good point also. spend all that time building your tank for it to crash in a day.

I'm told most of the gfo on the market is just re-branded bayoxide. So, it is possible if the seller was able to get it in bulk somehow. I don't usually trust ebay though LOL, so, would probably just stick with BRS :)

Unfortunately, $17 is pennies in this hobby, especially on a pound of something that will take months to consume.

+1, plus you have to consider what you have at risk. If you lose even one $15 frag or fish because of impurities in it- is it worth it?

I can not tell you the last time I spent $17 on a single purchase for anything other than a cheap run of the mill frag lol. This is an expensive hobby but worth it IMO. Not saying you dont even try to save a few bucks, I always figure out where I can save to put the extra money towards another purchase Im wanting, but when saving a few bucks leads to questions about quality of a product it is not worth the thousands you already have invested.
