Found something new that needs to be ID'd

    Hello. Found another little funny creature in the dark that I need identification on. The picture isn't that great, but I hope it will help with the description. It is white and it moves around like a snail, but with no shell. It does have two antennas like a snail and somewhat of a similar mouth. I don't know if it could be a baby snail and has not formed its shell yet. I've never seen it in the daytime and after holding a light to it for a while trying to get a good pic, it went under the rock.

    Sorry, just put a link to it. I think you are right on the stomatella snail, does look a bit like it. Are those bad to have in the tank or is it okay?

    I agree...looks like Stomatella varia...harmless and good little cleaners.

    +1 if it looks like a snail with only half a shell, it is a stomatella :) They're good guys.

    It looks like the pre-historic looking Chitons i know i have one in my tank prying them off is nearly impossible and they are super super cleaners....

    Good call. Looks to like a chiton to me too. They will annihilate algae on your rocks. Good HH
