    Possibly a limpet... I have several in my tank too that hitchhiked in. Haven't found them doing anything bad yet, just kinda hang out on the rock.

    I believe they are just algae eaters. If yours have small holes at the top of their shells they are not true limpets but keyhole limpets... they can SOMETIMES graze on soft corals. Mine are true limpets and have never harmed anything to date.

    Check these out. I'd think that it the identification as limpets is pretty accurate. If they are, in the fuge they're probally well suited.

    Yes, it's a keyhole limpet. It looks kind of odd, but it may just be my imagination. I'd guess it isn't one of the species that is likely to eat corals. I think it will be one of the algae/sponge eaters. Is the base flat, as in, would it sit flat on a table, or is the base curved like a saddle?

    the base is kinda round... it looks exactly like a snail.... but a snail having a really weird shell lol
