    I wouldn't use that pump. Not b/c its not made for SW tanks(even thou that may be the case), its just not strong enough for anything. Keep in mind anything you get at home improvement store are not specifically made for SW aquariums.

    well I was going to use it for a phosphate reactor. any different?

    You need to read the box and see if its SW approved. If its not, it wont last long.

    A lot of pumps that are not made for SW also use some brass parts. I wouldn't risk it for something as small as a reactor pump. Just get an MJ.

    I've used those pumps for years for making new saltwater. They work great!!
