So I am almost done my transition from my large 120 to my 28g. I'm turning the 120 into the fowlr. But I'm figuring I can't have a cleanup crew because they will be eaten how do I deal with the extra waste. A canister filter?

Siphon out the waste with water changes.

Depending on the fish you keep you may be able to get a CUC. Just will need to get larger species of snails and hermits.

What kind of fish do you have ? I keep a cuc with a dog face puffer, picasso trigger and a wrasse. The trigger nipped at all of them for the first few days but seems to have given up. All I lost were the hermit crabs.

+1 for siphon... go in with a scrubber and clean off all the rocks, or pull em out and clean em in buckets of salt water. do it periodically so it doesnt build up.

the fish i am looking for are a couple triggers, a lion fish, etc. I am looking at a predator tank. I love triggers so that would be my favorite, My tank is 120g 48x24x24, in some expert opinions with a future upgrade to a 300g in a few years, How many triggers could i keep in my 120 if i get them from small? what kind of cleanup crew could i accosiate with it. And how big a lionfish can i get?
ideally 2 triggers and 2 lions would be my fav but probably not compaitble.
