FOWLR lighting

    what kind of lights would I need for a FOWLR tank 90 gallon...

    I really just want fish... Do I need t5s or can I get away with CFs??

    Any kind of lighting would work. You dont need any special kind of lighting since you arnt going to have any corals.

    A setp lower than CFs would be fine, even. Just regular old florescents would be peachy.

    anything would be fine. whatever you think looks good. don't have to worry about watts, depth or anything. you could leave em in the dark if you wanna.

    I'd still add an actinic, cause it helps the fish's coloring.

    PC's for fish only is the most cost effective without risking an all out algae breakout. I wouldn't go regular fluorescents.

    But just know, that the PC's will not support coral life very well if you decide to upgrade your tank to reef status. Something to think about.

    Yeah some fish's color really pops under actinics. But you can buy actinics for regular floresents.

    i would probably go with pc's but for a fo tank anything would work. just remember not enough light and your fishes colors wont be as vibrant(basically the fish get tans).
