You could try a rubber band but I would suggest getting some super glue.

I never have tried to glue a polyp so don't know how safe it is for the coral. I have had success just filling a small container with enough sand to cover the bottom, dropping the polyp in and cover with bridal veil until it attaches to a pebble then gluing the pebble to a rock.

I would just re-glue it. Add a drop of glue, put the polyp on and put it back under water. It can wait, just get the polyp in a secure place for now.

Best to use super glue gel.

loctite super glue gel works great and can be bought at home depot.

but an easier and more natural way is to take a platic container and fill with sand and rock rubble and place zoa in side in a low flow area that still gets enough light. give it a few days and its done

Your looking for something with cynoacrylate, most super glues will be ok, just check the back. Also, get a gel so it's thicker and easier to use.

At least a few days, possible a week or more though. It depends on how fast it grows and how stressed it is. You can find superglue at almost any store, Walmart, Kmart, any hardware store etc.
