Frag Tank

Thinking about things and soon I will have an unoccupied tank stand.So I figured I could turn this into a frag tank stand. Where can I buy a shallow frag tank like FS's have, but maybe like a 14-15g? I think it would be the footprint of a 20g long. Like is 20" X 12" X 8 or 9"

Anyways.. I would like to do this sometime in the future, like maybe December I'll start setting up. I've looked online & haven't found any retailers..idk of any that actual sell a real "frag tank." No luck on Craigslist. Any ideas? Still need to check my LFS.

 

I thought that usually frag tanks are custom made.

 

I wasn't sure. I just saw that solloie7 was able to get one that has a frame around the top/bottom. He found it used though so I don't know.. :/

Would it cost much to make one from scratch? Just use glass panels?

 

These guys have all sorts of unusually-sized tanks. I don't know about their quality, though.

Those are great but they don't make any small enough. All for commercial use.

Yeah, that's probably your best option. See what they're willing to do for you.

There's likely also some places in your area that make custom tanks; they'd be good places to ask as well. Shipping may or may not be a limiting factor.

 

What about the local glass shop?

 

Here's that sites prices for the size I want. Rimless: ½ - 29 (Rimless) 12 x 30 x 6 Tall $80. There was no rim tank option. I thought maybe that would be less expensive, bur rimless are cool too. I'll try my LGS.

Edit: Here's what it says for a 15g. ½ - 15 (Rimless) 24 x 12 x 6 Tall $74
I think I want a ½ 29.
