I think you meant it's 30" wide, a 10g is 20" wide. What's wrong with a standard 20L? They are plenty shallow for easy lighting, and look really nice once you de-rim them.

I think your mixing up length and width - I wish my 90 gallon was 20" wide :jester:

I have been known to be a little retarded lol. I tend to use Width (typically largest dimension) x Depth x Height.

He said he wanted the footprint of a 20L which is 30"x12". The footprint of 10g is 20"x10"

Haha. Yeah I meant 30" long on that, Nealio. Which would be a 1/2 29g

Thanks, Sollie. I was looking at the same tank you have. I do like the rimless look though. Would it make sense to get the 1/2 29g & remove the rim to make a rimless, saving money & still getting the same look? Or Are rimless tanks built with higher quality sealant, making them stronger than a rimmed tank with the rimmed removed? I saw the 1/2 29 rimless was like $80

I could use a 10g, but I am use the 10 as my sump. I am trying to make use of a stand I have built for a 29g.

they have thicker sheets of acryllic/glass

im thinking about taking the top rim off of mine once I get it IDK though I dont mind it that much. Would be easy though since its thick acrylic.

I took the rim off a thin glass 2.5 before talk about scared of breaking it.

Why not just use a 20long?

I bought mine a while back for a buck a gallon.

And I am in the process of setting my 40 breeder frag tank up as we speak.

That reminds me, I should check one of my other LFS. A specific one always sell their tanks at $1 per gallon. Maybe I can find something there.
