Generally no, I have one too, it' s pearl bubble, great coral. The way it grows makes any normal attempts to frag nearly impossible. It doesn't branch or bud etc. However, if you happen to have a wet band saw, it is possible. Death from fragging usually occurs because the heat from the saw kills the cells around the cut which can lead to death and infection. A wet saw greatly reduces this heat to near nothing. I have seen Scolys fragged this was, open brains etc. They were just cut right in half. You can actually do really cool things with this method. If you get two different Scolys, you cut each in half and put the two different halves together. They will grow together and fuse and you will have a coral with half one color and half the other.

I have a wet saw, I might just trade him off instead of taking a chance on kiling him. They are very pretty coral's. I might keep him too, he get's out of hand and I have to devote alot of space to him alone. The tank is a 55 and there are other thing's I want to put in here but he won't allow it. Bubble Power!!

I have had mine for about a year. It has really grown much, but it has become fuller. I wouldn't worry about it growing and taking over. I have never seen and sweeper tenticles on it, it has been a very peaceful and beautiful coral for me. I would keep it.

he can be fragged pretty easily. wrap a rubber band around the area that you want to cut. Leave the rubber band on for roughly 2 weeks to a month. This will safely kill this area of the coral making it safe to cut without risking an infection from burning. Used a dremel with a diamond wheel to make the cut where the dead part is. I've done this many times with wall hammers, bubble corals and i am going to do it to my elegance

I see this guy's sweeper's out every day several times a day. He is not a bit shy to burn another coral.

I have been wondering this myself as i have got a green bubble coral, i got it when it was a hand fish size, but the flesh has grown to a a4 piece of paper size with the bone being the same size as i got it. that was 1 1/2 years ago now and myn is aggressive, had to move other corals away from it, moving the rockwork and placing it near to the sand so its not as close to the light, see if that would slow down the growing.
