I was wondering has anyone on here fragged Galaxiea? I have fragged zoa's, duncans, exenia, frgspawn, hammer, and polyps. Was wondering about this coral. I have a large piece and want to frag about 4 pieces off.
    Thanks Jason

You'll need a dremel type tool to frag this coral.

Like Mission I have a drimmel and I found the hammer and sharp cold chisel to be faster and easier LOL Like the 2 Guy's in the Capitol One commercial with the lobsters using a Mace to open the lobster rather then the little shell crackers LOL

 Nice comparison there Rog. Wouldn't you do less damage to the coral by using the dremmel though? What if you whack the coral too hard and end up with more pieces than you wanted?

I simply saw every piece as a frag .. But on the commercial level it is what it is , I forget many never use tools and having had a hammer and chisel in my hands more times then I care to remember I kind of know how what will break . And getting out the wet saw is to much trouble so I chose to just whack :) But yes you are use a dremmel ..

I'm a carpenter so tools are fun and natural. I actually use a pair of shrub cutters with the little hook on them. (dont tell my wife though). There is alot of tools that come in handy when fragging it just depends on the coral. Is there anyone on here that is close to me? I just found this site by useing google for fragging. So far I have found alot of good info. Tomorrow is our local club meeting so I have been busy this week getting ready for it(frags). One of my frogspawn frags decided it wanted to be a mother colony by spliting into 2 heads and is already tring agin. Grow baby grow. We are working on breeding benggi's. We have three small ones and none have paired off yet.
