I am wanting and needing to frag my Hydnophora, it is growing really fast and will be a problem for the coral around it. (*see picture bottom center)

    1. Would it be ok to frag this leaving it in the tank because it is attached to a big piece of rock

    2. Is there any tips or advice when fragging this.

I would frag the rock. Take it out the tank.

Is there any issues with leaving it in the tank besides accessibility?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Since hydnophora is a stony coral, you will need a diamond saw or similar to cut the skeleton and not damage the tissue too much. I can not see any other way but to remove it from the tank. I suppose you could try to break it a part but it would slime like no tomorrow. You can not cut it with a razor blade of any kind without doing some serious harm to the polyp tissue.

Sure is a healthy beautiful specimen.

Thanks for the advice, I was hoping I could keep it in the tank to frag, but it does not sound like it.

If you want to keep what corals you have happy, frag it outside the tank.
