I have wondering if fragging in ones display tank is a bad idea? I have the perfect live rock formation on the short end of my tank (almost like a work bench) and was thinking about using it to frag a bit! Will other livestock mess with the side hobby, why do I see everyone that frags has an additional tank just for this. I have workable space and was thinking about using it for this purpose.;D

It really depends on the coral. Some of them can let out nasty toxins during the frag that you really should try to avoid being released in the tank.
But you by no means need another tank to frag in. I use a tupperware container filled with a little tank water for some. Others don't really even need to be in water at all for fragging ;)
