ive got a couple different palys that have grown very nicely. i am now considering fragging them. i know the care that is needed in handling them , mostly in regards to the toxins they carry. so gloves are definitely in order.

the rock that they are growing on cant be removed to be able to cut underneath to take a chunk of rock with the paly on. can they be cut at the base or "peeled" off to adhere to some frag rock? any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated. thnx in advance

guy ive had success peeling zoas from a particular rock. what helped was the fact that the colony grew a very thick mat and as soon as i peeled a large enough portion the rest came off quite easily. the hardest part is peeling enough and trying not to tear it, kinda like a stubborn orange peeling.

I've been able to just cut low and take the whole polyp by actually 'running' the blade along the rock and zoa. As for reattaching I've heard a drop of super glue gel works but I've been unsuccessful doing that because they get so slimey pluse close up so tight it was hard for me to handle them. So I just put some gravel in a shallow cup and drop the polyps in until they attach to a piece then glue the piece to a rock.

I frag them just the same way as GSP.
The difficult part is trying to cut a piece of the mat without damaging the polyp like stated above.
Ripping them off has also worked for me in the past but I wouldn't advise that lol;)
    Happy Fragging;)

Make sure you have carbon running in your system to remove the toxin.

Sounds like peeling them shouldnt be to hard, Mine tend to grow off the rock onto the sand bed and it would make it super easy to frag those lol! But best of wishes for you bud and be safe
