Cut them where the base meets the encrusting mat also known as a coenenchyme. The cutting of the mat will ensure that the polyps don't get injured.

If it is a Parazoanthus, the yellow polyps will be joined by a thin strip of flesh called a stolon. This can be cut to frag the colonial polyps.

ohk .. well they are matted some of them are joined by a lil piece of that looks like its streching.

if they are joined should i jsut cut them down by the rock and glue them to a a piece of rubble ??

or should i take ones that are joined together by the lil peiece and cut them down by the base and glue them ?

    Either way will suffice!
You can also take small pieces of live rock and place them next to the polyps and the polyps will grow and spread across the rock for frags as well.

I will try to force mine onto other rocks by blocking out light with rock on top or very near to them they soon( like a month or so) start to grow onto other rock. Lot less stressfull
