ok so i will not freshwater dip. I have just heard and read that it can help. But i will instead place the fish into a quarantine tank. In the quarantine tank, should the temperature be higher? salinity? etc...

first off start fortifying your food with garlic. You can lower your salinity, increase temperature, or treat in QT with copper (assuming you also have copper testing supplies). Once you use copper in a tank though it should be completely restarted as the copper will reside in the gravel and can be absorbed by corals as well. Thus copper is a bad idea in a DT, and it's use will create quite a bit of work.

I have to disagree here. The ecological complexity of the reef tank is significantly greater than a fresh water tank, and they do not work unless careful consideration is taken. Except in specific circumstances most reef keepers will find their best results come from imitating the reef as much as possible. One would certainly note that fish density in a display tank is much higher than in a reef, and often this is the first source of problems for a new reef keeper.
