Would a freshwater platty be able to live in a saltwater tank?

There are several livebearers that can be acclimated to live in a sg of 1.020 to 1.023.
I have seen several sailfin mollies who have survived under these conditions.

Ive seen mollies and guppies in SW up to 1.026. Now that i think about it i used to keep guppies in 1.024 sg to feed my lion fish back in the day. Nevber had a problem. I think someone on here has 2 mollies in his tank... ive seen it on a thread here somewhere, ill try to dig it up.

I know that Mollies can thrive in saltwater. I have even seen them breed (okay not the actual act...but I did see the babies born) in saltwater.

Only question I have is why would you want one in there (other then lion fish food).
