Just went to the fish store and forgot to ask them that question ...

I just took apart my 10 gallon guppytank (finally) to make a quarantine tank out of it. So I want to cycle it now.
Shall I put new filter pads in there and wash the filter real careful or shall I keep the old filter pads (they are pretty new)?
I mean, the tank was cycled and had lots of bacteria on it...

The strain of bacteria for fresh and saltwater are different.  :)

    ok, then I clean it.

can I use my bio-wheel or do I have to get a new one?
Or clean it? (if yes, how?)

You know if I had the answer I would tell you ;-)
I think that if you scrub lightly and rinse, everything will be fine.
The bacteria strain is different but at the worst you kill the freshwater strain and it gets replaced by the saltwater strain. AGAIN this is MHO.
Not only that but I am a cheap Bast... and would not buy a new one if I thought the old one would work. Have a nice day,
    Jim

I'd keep the wheel, but get new pads.
