You will only need 2 bulbs and will want to use pressurized CO2 to keep it from being and algae garden. Keep the bulbs 30" to 36" above the sand to keep your fertilizer and CO2 needs down and to keep the Discus out.

I use a single t5 50/50 for 13-14 hours per day. I also through in co2 and fertilizer after water changes.

Dude the neons are still skiddish. I dont blame them though. In the last three weeks of their lives theyve had a new landscape in their home on a daily basis. I hope after this last plant, They will chill out more since my hand will not be in their tank as much.

I would cut that back to 10 to 12 hours a day. Should make maintenance easier and will make algae blooms less likely in the case of a nutrient imbalance.

When is the new plant coming in? And do you know where I should put it? And is Katie going to be home or are the dogs going to the in laws. I don't want to surprise the pitts.

No intervention needed. My wife hates fish tanks now because of my obsession. She will be real happy in a few months when I start my small SW coral set up. My plan is to have a majority coral tank with nome's, and inverts. Definately need a clownfish to throw in there as well. My main focus is on the aquascape rather than the livestock. livestock to me are fertilizer for my scape. Just tell your wife you will re-do the landscaping outside and she should be happy haha. GOOD LUCK

You should probably replace the SIG with blanks before starting the new tank.

I hid the pistol, im safe. Put the plant somewhere up front. I trust your judgement. the_gats is the man! The dogs will be gone, so walk in will be fine for you. They will be at Gina's. I bid on a SW tank set up today, hope I win!
