I am thinking about changing my flourescent bulb in my 20 high FOWLR aquarium. I am currently using a "freshwater full spectrum" bulb, but I want to know if it matters if I use that. I am thinking about getting a 10,000k marine bulb, but is it really worth it? What's the difference- the light, temperature, or look?

Since it's just a FOWLR, its all your personal preference. Generally freshwater full spectrum bulbs are 6,500 K in temperature to mimic the spectrum of natural sunlight. Most people with marine tanks tend to use 10K and higher for their daylight bulbs since it's more of a whiteish color.

What kind of look did you want in your tank?

I don't want a blue look. Although i have no corals, I want It to look very clear, bright, colorful, and clean. Any idea of what i might be looking for?

You would probably like a 10,000K bulb then. 20,000K is considered a blue look and 14,000K is a pretty standard in between. White with a hint of blue.

What kind of fixture do you have? That will narrow down your bulb options.
