This is the type of hobbiest that isn't really a hobbiest ... he just has a tank.

Saw one he liked ... so he bought one and thought he'd give it a try. Not the first crazy thing he's done in his tank and told me ... and my jaw dropped. I just didn't know enough about anemones to really react, other than it seemed ridiculous.

Thanks for all your help guys ... I'll make sure he knows what steps to take, and keep the damn thing out of my tank.

    quick responses appreciated!

Actually, you can frag anemones ;)

Easiest way to get an anemone to release is either by directing a powerhead at it for a bit or holding an ice cube to its foot.

Actually, you can frag them but it's for people with advanced fragging experience.

That is how you would get the nem off the rock, you cant frag them, they will split with good flow and the right water parameters.

UM, you can frag them:cheesy:. And sometimes splitting is a bad sign. Actually, some people that aquaculture them, purposely stress them to cause a survival instinct to kick in. Which, is splitting.;)

It's actually a splendid idea. Perhaps, the best thing that could have ever happened to the species. 8)
