Got the guys in the 24 getting used to the MH's ...

While they are on a small schedule for the MH right now, my wife is telling me that the hammerhead coral's seem to be enjoying the new lights as they appear fatter now and not so skinny.

how do you plan on getting the 24 used to the halides? how long were they running for when you first put them on?

New bulbs, so I'm not worried.

But yea - the 24 has been on PC's the entire time with a 11 hour cycle of daylight and 12 hour cycle of blue.

    Right now,
I'm doing 2 hours a day of the MH and increasing it by 1 hour a day till I get to 10 hours of usage. At that point, I'll go away with the PC's all together and be pure MH.

    Good question tho!

    Finally....
    The cycle has started.

    PH: 7.7
    Ammonia: 7
    No2: 6
    No3: 15

    Woot!!

Common mistake is that new folks will setup a tank and not see a cycle start and they put fish and such in.. Few days later, they have a crash. That's why I test every 2 days after a new setup.

Took almost 5 days to get a cycle started.

I was talking to a few BRS folks about that today. We got a few HW and Software BRS folks that keep reefs. I'm trying to get them to the site so we can make Matt create us a HP group. lol
