frogfish ideas. do you think it would work?

    it can definately be done, depending on the type of frogfish you get. The ones with the longer lures are far less active. Most of the time (98%) they sit on the bottom and wait for food. There are a few that get very large so you need to research the kinds before you get one.

    You will have to do frequent water changes as they produce a lot of waste.

    I have kept frogfish in 12 g before, I even had an ambron scorpion (kind of leafy scorpion) in a 12g.

    I will say, frogfish do not transition well often times. You want to make sure that the frogs have been in captivity for several months before you buy them, as often times they die. Also remember that frogs can swallow anything...and will, leading to their death. I read an article about 1 frog swallowing a bamboo shark whole. It of course died a few days later from overeating

    This is the first approved "smaller tank than recommended" thread I have EVER seen on 3reef! haha I have always wanted one of these guys..I actually considered it instead of a mantis buutt the mantis won.

    yea right now im looking at leaf fish as they get around 5 inches but that still seems big. so im also looking at sargassum fish wich stays smaller and ive had before. but i did get my last one on frozen krill before he finally died because of me. i really want one now. :D

    i thought that the caulerpa would help with this. the chaeto will be in the fuge so that will catch most of the waste as it does in my 30 gal. what do you think?

    thanks guys! i like that link, it had some cool photos. i will be ordering the Base rock from Reefcleaners obviously since that is the cheapest and BEST way to go and the mangroves will also come from there as too will the caulerpa. get ready john in the summer youre gonna have a pretty big order from me!

    ok so my order will look like this
    30 lbs of base rock (15 lbs for 30 gal, 15 for ten gallon)
    1 fern caulerpa (spreads fast dont need more than this)
    i penny macro algae :D
    10 red mangroves
    with 3reef discount- $79.81

    not ordered yet, will order when i have the cash for it. lol so it may be april before you see my frog fish build, but feel free to post here about your ideas, im all open for them!!
