the leaf fish is the smallest of my choices coming in at a maximum length of 4 inches while others can top the length of 6+. so leaf fish will probobly be the one i go with. for feeding i plan on using mollies raised in saltwater. my grandma has mollies and when she gets them to have babies again (today tomorrow, you never know with them) i will get the babies and acclimate then raise them in the ten gallon until they are large enough to compete with my clowns. then their babies will be put into a tupper ware container to live while i feed them to the leaf fish. at least thats how it SHOULD work. but we know it never does :p

ok just got some new info. it says it is "unadvisable" to keep a leaf fish in anything under a 20 gal. i dont see the reason. if it doesnt move and only gets 4 in. then whats the deal? im still gonna do it but just sounded kinda dumb. they eat smal fish and crustaceans in the wild so that what im gonna try when i get it.

they also need low light. so 36 watts of T-8 should be dark enough. will my macro algae still grow with this light?

im typing everything that i find just in case someone also wants to do this or needs help with their scorpionfish or frog fish.

ok just to update what i have found. leaf fish cna be kept in reef aquariums with very good success. they wont eat fish that arent smaller than them. they are not a finicky eater so they can be easily turned on to frozen foods.

i had a sargassum! very cool fish. got him on frozen too. i would not use any kind of skewer because of how fast they strike the food if you can try and open the feeder fishs mouth and get a fishing line through there so it looks alive to the sargassum. then eventually kill the small fish and put the feeder fish on it. it is also helpful to keep it with nothing aggressive. using kent garlic is also very helpful. good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
