I know that the Hammer (branching) coral and Frogspawn (branching) coral are from the same family, but I was wondering if they can actually physically touch one another without any problem? My hammer coral is really starting to take off with the increased lighting and getting real close (about an inch away) to touching one of my frogspawn. Can I let them touch or do I need to move one of them? Thanks.

Should be fine. There is an ever slight chance it won't be, but I wouldn't worry. Just keep an eye on them, take action if needed.

Yup I agree...I have both hammer and frogspawn touching and they have no issues with each other.

    +1 on all above

main thing with these corals is to keep from touching the exposed flesh with your own hands

a former 3 reef Member MC Hammer summed it up nicely with

Hammer Time - You can't touch this
and that is perfect advice for all LPS corals IMHO

I never had a problem touching them with my bare hands, but pulling heads out of water without making them close up first (gentle hand waving over them will do it) was a different story altogether...

Yeq, I have touched my frogspawns and hammer many times by accident when cleaning or moving things in the tank... Never bothers me. Same with my trumpet coral... I have even been touched by its sweepers... Nothing happened. Lol
