I just got a small frogspawn coral, it has 2 heads and i was woundering what a good distance is to space it from my other corals. I was thinking about 6 inches but im having a hard time finding a low flow area that isnt around any of my other coral but its kinda hard because my tank is only 36 inches long and my corals are spread out pretty evenly so im trying to rearrange the ones that arent attatched to the rock. any suggestions would be helpful.
    Thanks, Tyler

Tyler - sounds like you are on the right track. Rockscaping is like clothes shopping - you often love it or hate it!

Do you know what type of spawn it is? Branching? Wall Hammer? etc?

6" sounds like it would be very safe if it only has 2 heads ATM.

For frogspawn low/low-moderate flow seems to be the best. They like to do a gentle "hula" in the tank but do not like to be blown all around like a torch coral does.

Be patient and take your time as once you find the "right" spot for the corals you will be doing much enjoying!!!

Perhaps a FTS of your tank might help us to provide more specific instructions?

Post a pic of your tank so we can get an idea of what you're working with.

thanks for the quick reply. It is a branching frogspawn, Im gunna try to get a more clear picture of my tank, i have alot of small frags that you cant really see in all the pics i have so maybe ill break it up into a pic of the left and one of the right. Once i add more rock to my tank i shouldnt have a problem with finding a good place for it so this is kinda teporary for a few weeks.

I found a pretty good place for it, its a little closer to my button polyps than i would like but it will work for now. im pretty good with target feeding my corals on a regular basis so do you think with the regular feedings it will keep it from extending its tentacles as much? has anybody kept a frogspawn near other coral without it damaging it?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I keep all euphyllias (frogspawn, hammer, torch) eight inches away from all other corals except other euphyllias. While they may not show that long of sweeper tentacles every night they have the potential IME.

I have a 12 gal so all my coral are pretty close. I had a 2 head frogspawn that split into a 4 head. I never had any problems with stinging. It did good in the middle of my tank. I had GSP, a variety of shrooms, yellow polyps and a toad stool all around it.
