I don't know what is going on with my tank. When my bacteria bloom first appeared in December, none of my corals opened up. In a matter of days, my LPS corals all died minus one. They stayed closed up and looked to be shedding this white stuff and eventually withered away to nothing but a skeleton.

I got my bacterial bloom taken care of with a UV sterilizer and everything went back to normal. I bought a small frag of frogspawn on tuesday. It was dipped and acclimated and started opening up right away. Thursday while at school the power went out at my apartment for about 16 hours. Luckily nothing died and the next day everything looked normal, even the frogspawn.

Yesterday I noticed my frogspawn was retracted and when I got home this afternoon, it looks like the pictures and has some small strands of white gooey stuff coming off it. I even see a few pieces it's body on the sand below it.

Anyone have any idea what is going on? I don't know if I should attribute this to the power outage or is it the same exact thing that killed my LPS corals last month. It looks exactly how my torch and duncan looked when they were dying. It's really discouraging and I don't want to kill every LPS coral I add to my tank. Could their be some kind of disease lingering in my tank?

All of my other corals are normal. Nothing is unusual and my params are in line with what they should be.

Ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, or phosphates are all at 0. SG 1.025, temp 77 F, calcium 540 (always been this high, just recently changed salt brands to get away from oceanic), dKH between 9 and 10, pH 8.0.

After researching some more, I've determined its Brown Jelly Disease =[

I took out the frag, dipped it in CoralRx, and blew off all the dying tissue. There is one head left that looks untouched, hope it survives.

I dipped it before originally putting it in my tank and saw no signs of BJD...how does a coral get the disease? Is it possible to survive in a tank for a period of time without being present on a coral?
