My frogspawn has a few polyps that are extending. Would this be the sign that he needs more room to grow and is trying to attack the other coral?

I second that. Those are its sweeper tentacles, it's looking for food, it may sting other corals, but it's just hungry. Try target feeding with some mysis. It's a happy and hungry hammer. Nice photo by the way, I've only seen the sweepers on my frogspawn a couple times and didn't get a picture.
