Just picked up a frogspawn from a lfs, looked beautiful was fully opened, got it home floated it for a good 20mins, then drip acclimated it for about 2hrs, was fully open during the acclimating. Then I transfered it to the tank and now it looks like this:
Tank is 1.026 sal. 79temp, 8.2ph, 0 amonia, 15 nitrate, 0 nitrite, I dont have a test for calcium but Im actually running to a lfs just to pick one up to have so I will update that but not sure if that can have anything to do with it or not. Tank is about 3 months old, 60lbs live rock 40 lbs live sand, 15 lbs live rock in sump, hob refugium with a 4-5inch sand bad, asm-g2 skimmer in the sump, koralia 3 and 4 in the tank, thats all the info I have available so not sure what could be wrong if anything. The lights are off in the tank at the moment but its at the bottom of the tank, in a medium flow area, in another 2 hours my lights kick on and itll be under a geissman single 150w halide. SO any info and advice would be great thanks, Just dont want to loose this beautiful piece.

it may be just adapting to its new home. It is fairly common for corals not to open up when they are first introduced into an aquarium. I would give it a couple of days and see if it opens up. There is no real need to worry at this point. Make sure it is not damaged and doesn't get brown jelly disease, you could give an iodine dip to ensure against this, but I would wait for a couple of days first.

+1. May take a day or two, might even open up a few hours after the light comes on. In any case, make sure to pick up tests kits for phosphates, calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity. All are very important for keeping corals.

One question for you. When they took it out of the tank at the LFS did they agitate it to close up before it was pulled out of the water and placed in the bag. Mine also looked like this and did not get any better and eventually my good friend gras got it and brought it home and is now looking great in her tank.

Also did you agitate it to get it to close before you transferred it from the bag to your tank.

yes they did agitate it , I did some what to, I may not of got it all closed up though like they did. So could this just be stress is all then? hopefully it is what is wrong dont wantt to loose this piece, its a green/yellow in color tipped with 3 heads, looked beautiful fully open. Also I do have a alk test kit just didnt run that one when I was doing all the others as it took longer and I was in a rush to find answers I can test that now that Im not as stressed myself. also I picked up a calc test kit and im at a 460, also bought a bottle of calc to add just in case, but as long as thats a good number ill return it.

    460 is a good number.
Seems like most of your params are in check. I would just give it time and keep an eye on it.

sounds like a normal coral getting used to totally different params, as long as you do not see it melting away you should be fine, might take a few days to get used to everything.

+203 on new home syndrome. My pagoda cup took a solid two weeks to fully acclimate. It differs from coral to coral, from tank to tank.
