So I've had a frogspawn for about 5 months now and he seems to be really happy where he is currently in my tank. He has gone from 4 to 5 heads in the 5 months I've had it. So here is my question, is it safe to move him? I have some flow issues on the bottom right corner of my tank and have increased the flow in this area and he is kinda whipping around a good bit more than usual. Do you think it will be fine in the higher flow or is it safer to just move it? Thanks in advance for any advice and K+.

IME frogspawn likes a medium flow and isn't happy in a high flow area. It likes to sway a bit but not get rag dolled around by the current. I would try to relocate it to an area of low to med flow if you can.

also, be careful when doing this as when I went to move my prized FS it fell headfirst onto my sandbed and died days later. Make sure not to touch it's head or let it come in contact with anything, handle by the stalk and do it with care.

    best of luck!

yea, these things don't like being handled roughly, but if its being blasted by flow then you definitely want to move it. Happy handling!

If you can get it to close up a bit that helps... avoid the "skirts" around the heads, touching them can kill the head (learned the hard way). Best to avoid ALL the soft tissue areas entirely.

Also, I don't know about yours, but my Clownfish host the frogspawn in my tank and if I get within 18" of their nest they will attack me, even draw blood, so if anything is hosting it... just watch out for a very aggressive struggle.

Yeah I was gonna wait until this evening when it closes up to try and move it. Thanks for the advise!
