Bought my first coral over the weekend, a Frogspawn. Does the Frogspawn attach itself or is that something I have to help it with. I rearranged some lr to kind of pin it down in a crevice. Is that a good idea? I have it half way up in the tank not in direct line of water flow, there is some. Is that ok?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

You'll need to use marine safe glue or epoxy to hold it into place.

Sounds good to me. Mine likes it in medium - low flow. Pin that sucker down especially if you have snails. Mine like to move my frogspawn like it's hiding eggs at easter time.

I have mine in a similar location that you have yours. It is very happy and healthy. I suggest you find it a spot in the rockwork, make sure it's happy where you place it. One you're sure it's happy in it's new home, use a reef epoxy or reef safe glue to glue it down to the rockwork. Super Glue gel works great!

IMO as long as the frogspawn has fully extended tentacles and good coloration, it is a happy camper. I spot keed mine with mysis/filter feeder food once or twice a week.

Nice extensions, all heads fully opened, good coloration. Def keep it in a low to medium flow area, my Froggies love a "balmy" amount of flow, nothing high or violent. Do you best to keep all extended params in check for max growth ALK/CA/MG. Good lighting & placement is also essential for it.

Pics? Here's my two & my torch snuck in:

I have heard of this spot feeding being hit or miss what would the filter foods be? I tried the mysis but it only stays on the frogspawn as long as the pumps are off or my clown just comes and eats up with is left over.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Personally I would wait to glue it down until you find permanent placement and that can take a couple of days or more. It is a lot easier to move it if it is not attached to a piece of LR.
