im really surprised no one else is responding to this. You might want to consider posting something on the asap forums or at least general to present your case so more people can see it. Good luck, id hate to see such a beautiful tank like this go down so suddenly. Well to go down at all for that matter! This serves as a bump as well, hope someone chimes in

DKH 9.5 this guy is high after 3 water changes. So i went and check my doser. Then i found it. When i made the changes to raise the Mg i missed the line and made the change to the Kh, and didn't correct the mistake right away. And i remember being disturbed by the phone and saved the program as is.... so the dkh was also being raised at the same time STUPID!!!!!!!:-[ After 3 water changes its at 9.5, that thing must have been at 14 or more before i started the water changes. I missed it too, thats also my fault did the test too fast or something, was a bit of a panic this morning:confused:

    Thanks for your time guys

Hey , no its not a stupid question its been asked alot and with good reason. No its been tested before for ponds by the industry and the manifacturers and by other aquarist who have done other projects like mine which, is not that original ( Don't spread the word lol ) . So its been used befor with great success and no ill effect on the fauna. But now i found the mistake , my mistake, me myself and i mistake lol, another lesson learned i hope.

    very sad reading Basile

I have very much enjoyed reading your project threads but on a different time zone so not always going to be around if there are issues

Cira posts a very valid point above, not everyone on this site reads everyones posts on every tank thread
so if you do have issues, if you take a specific problem to the right forum, there is a much better chance of people with relevant experience offering help and advice

also check out the 3 reef calculators, these are great for helping you make required changes in water chemistry as a pace that corals can adapt to - DKH at 15 for example and Mag over 1500 if arrived at gradually would not have caused these issues

hope your loses are minimised but do suggest that any corals showing areas of bleaching, that still have some healthy sections, would be worth fragging IMHO

hope you turn it around and it works out for you

Well the list of casulties continues this morning i lost " pinhead" ,my tuxedo urchin, too many changes i think , these guys like really stable conditions and with all those water changes, it was too much for him. Some astreas also got the same. I avoided the crash but not the damages including my pride. ::) But i can only hope to do better and be more carefull next time . Live and learn they say. ;D

Its part of learning the hobby. live and learn. The tank stay...and me with it. I'm going to learn from this mistake and before i put more corals in; i'll understand what i did wrong and why, a go from there. Nothing good happens fast in a tank. Thats the way i see it. When i did my biocube i was anxious to see it full and in less than a year i was there. So it will be the same with this. Got to learn the why and when first, and then apply what you learn , thats all. LOL. The only way to progress. Its only money lol. I know part of my mistake, now i must make sure it doesn't happen again.Thank for taking the time.

This is really a shame. I am sorry. Have further tests revealed anything more?
