+1 to that! A DKH spike like that will easily wipe out any and all SPS, probably some LPS also. 15 is bad; there is great display at an LFS that keeps it @ 16. I've keep my MG at about 1500 at all times (CA of 460x3.25) and have put it up to about 1800 when treating for bryopsis. Off topic but some people think it's acutally the sulfate in the magnesium sulfate that kills the bryopsis (which is why tech M works the best for this porpose.) MG shouldn't rise more than 100ppm per day tho.

About Dante, how deep is your sand bed?

I really respect your aquascaping since I've had strangely similar ideas (stalactite only aquarium etc.) Thanks for sharing. K+

Don't let it get you down. The best laid plans of mice and men yada dada... I've had many a tank crash; the best thing to do is do like mother nature, grow your new coral on the skeletons of their forefathers and move on.

With all that work i've done i sure i'm not giving up Lol, takes more than that to turn me away. Even if i have to shut down the tank and clean her silly, it will take the time it take but we shall conquer the beast ! The only thing is i don't know yet whats the problem i got a buddy with his copper test coming tomorow night. I've done 4 water change of 20 g each, the process seemed to have helped. The inverst seem to stop dying and the clam is full spread today, the gorgonians are also full spread, so is the brain, the fishes are great. Sponges non affected. The main corals except the stool seem to regain strenght as well. Thanks for the peptalk appreciated.:)

Well the tank seem to be stabilising for now, the invert death toll continues, the copper theory seems more real will know tonight, buddy's comming over with his test kit, and poly bag. Not much else i can do but watch. Its sad but i'm just glad the fish are ok.

    Finally an answer

Well last night i had an expert, a guy who set up tanks, and has is own business in the trade, the one who sold me my stuff basically. He came to dinner and evaluated my tank. Its not copper, in his opinion ( he still took samples and is going to make all the tests) too many inverts still alive and even new generation of baby cerith snails all over the bottom on the move, and thriving. Serpentstar and brittlestar still alive, my shrimp alive, so copper is out, simplest explanation for a new 4 month old tank, it whent on a mini cycle, and will do so occasionally during the first year, so this mean the system is still unbalanced and needs to recoop from this and maybe more LR shoul be added into the sump to prevent this in the future. As of now my tank is off limits to new addition for a few months at least, maybe the rest of the year like the german do. They wait a full year and with good reason to put anything in; i just lost $ 500 of coral in one night. Some of my coral are still alive , some just, and some i'll have to remove. So thats the official report of this incident. Its going to be a long year, 8 months to go:cry:
