You know that project didn't cost that much really, PVC= $16, eggcrate = $ 3.00, Great StuFF 2 cans = $12.00, Zip ties= $ 8.00, Epoxy = $ 34,00 , Crush coral and sand = $ 20 , silicone i had it, let say $ 9.00 , The rock for my tank size 65 g $ 80.00 so grand total = $182.00 ,+ my time and it was fun to do now if you calculate the price of live rock, for a 65G if we say 70lb of LR at $ 10/lb = $700 So you save lots. And its original.

This is a really good project with really good results. Just got one question, if the structure is sealed with resin does that mean that you won't get the same porous effect like you get with live rock and not as many nooks and crannies for fish and inverts to live in?

It does look really good and gives a fantastic effect.

No, the resin is only on the foam which account for about 8 % of the structure. And some of the resin has been supplemented with sand and crush coral to give extra surface area for bacteria to hook on, and i can tell you, that after a month underwater coraline algae has enveloped the foam completely and its like any other rock now, stay tune for more pictures are comming with the fuge set up controllers, and all the goodies attached to the system, Mp 40's ,and the rest. The sculpture provides alot of hiding place so much so i lost a fish now its hidding on me lol . A funny fact about the foam it provides enough boyancy that my rocks are floating, ha-ha-ha ; i can hear you now! Yes only a frenchman can invent floating rocks. Yes , i can push with a finger the hole structure with no efforts at all. Thats the tower that is, the other one is fixed with the return hook with it.

well done on your rockwork.... that is a piece of work... It pays off in the end to put a lot of thought in time on your rockwork. I think that the number one thing on making a good looking tank. Corals will layout nicely on that. Great job!!!! k+
