This is my first post on here and also will be new to sw. Right now I have a 180g set up as African cichlids tank. I want to switch it over to a FOWLR tank. So any help and suggestion to make the transition with be great.
    Ok here's what I have

    180g tank.
Hang on back CPR overflow 1200gph.
    Wet dry filter. Sump.
    1200gph return pump
    9w turbo twist uv
    Mp 40 vortex
    140 # aragonite substrate
    T5 fixture

    That's what's setup now.

Here's what I want to do. FOWLR tank with

    2 or 3 lion fish
    2 snowflake eel

Can I put some yellow tang in that mix? And what else. Could I put in there that would go well together.

    Also getting switched over.

I need a r/o di and a protein skimmer and a refractometer What else am I going to need to get started?

Your help is greatly appreciated thank you

You are going to need about 180 lbs of live/dry rock(I suggest mostly dry rock and seed with a piece or live rock during cycle period). You might just want to rinse the sand unless its in the bag. You can add any fish you like as long as it cant fit into the lionfish or eel's mouth. Tangs, triggers, large wrasses come to mind.

I was gonna say live rock, patience and lots of money!!! I switched from cichlids to SW also, and glad i did! Learning patience is probably the most difficult thing. This is a great site with tons of people willing to help and advise. Take advantage of it and ask lots of questions. Welcome and enjoy!!
