    some kind of a leather it looks like. They're relatively inexpensive. They're sometimes dyed to get other colors than beige/tan/brown/pinkish that they are in nature. The dye wont last and it can hurt the coral.

    On caveat, they grow very quick and can get HUGE. LFS here has a Sarrco leather that's about 24" across.
