well i have a large sump area with several possibilities awaiting.
my main question is.... how much water (water level) is needed for a refugium?
i know that is going to be dependant on what type of plant that i am going to use so i am in need of suggestions for that as well.

bump and i just installed a new coralife 220 super skimmer..... i know i know some of you dont like coralife..... well some people do and i think i will be able to give it the attention and adjustments it needs to function at a reasonable level. so anyway i would like some tips on adjustments and modifications if possible/recommended.
i sure hope its overkill for my little 125. i have always heard you need to buy more than you need.

the 220 skimmer only took 3 days to break in and everything is looking good. but the evaporation seems to be a little worse (faster)

well i have about a 3 inch sand bed and the live rock placement is sub par IMO. so i decided to do the whole aquascapeing with drilling rock and inserting guides to keep everything solid.
i had a hard time finding rod (acrylic or glass or plastic) that i liked until i stumbled upon some knitting needles that are made from acrylic. they are two per pack and each one is 10mm in dia and 10inches long. they only cost 0.70 per pack and i got 14 packs. that is about 280 inches of 10mm acrylic that i can cut up to sections and use in my aquascape. will post pics of before and after as time allows. (i have two young kids 3 m and 2 yr, so this may take a while, i just thought i scored a cool buy)
