My 55 cube has been running with skimmer and 28kg of semi live rock for 4 weeks now, i have a couple of snails and hermits to tackle the algae, and a very small chromis and Clown fish total length 1-1/2", chromis to help cycle the tank, small clown is a friends i'm holding while he repairs tank, its been doing great and all lvls have been 0 for the last week apart from ammonia which is 10,
Problem is i am getting froth accumulate on the sump water surface and in the weir, and it looks mildly cloudy, very slightly,
This all happened in the last 24hours, all i can think of is i feed the 2 little fish every other day a quarter cube, and have added biopellets, i have not done a water change yet.

Is this a bacterial bloom from overfeeding or something to do with my reactor and pellets,

Any info would be great, i plan on tackling this problem before it gets worse

Lights are on 8 hrs daily 150watt halide

Just wondering, since it only started when i added bio pellets, maybe i need to remove some, there is 150/200ml in there its 300litres, maybe take out half, and can i still use the ones i take out , just leave them to dry out?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Too much bacteria in a newly set up tank. I would increase the O2 and use some prime and a water change to give those poor fish a chance.

Will removing the filter sock enable more oxygen?

If you have a skimmer running that should significantly help. You can adjust the power heads to provide more surface agitation.

Here is a link to Prime.

    Seachem. Prime

Since you may not have access to this product or a similar product, I would proceed with a water change.

I would take the biopellets off line until the tank is months older.

    Hope that helps.

Sorry I have no clue if that is doable, but I am curious as to the answer.

I googled: "Drying out bio-pellets and reusing them", I got a couple hits, you might have to reword it.

I believe you can rinse your pellets in ro/di,let them dry out and save them for later use.I have read in another thread that Jon Warner advised this to someone who was in a similar situation. The pellets themselves are simply a plastic polymer,so rinse off the bacteria and they should remain as new.
