    Hi friends,
Few days a go I bought a while back some frozen food to feed my 2 clownfish and royal grammar but honestly I don't know how to use it. I tried to soak it in water and then break it in small pieces, but it always falls on the bottom before the fish can get much of it. Am I doing something wrong? I've read that frozen food is quite suitable for small fish so something is not right.

Also, I managed to read that people feed frozen food to corals. How do they do that? Do I need a target feeder? Please share….

What kind if corals do you have?

I thaw the food, rinse it in a net and put some in the tank it small amounts at a time. You should not have to cut it up as it'll be small enough for their mouths. Are they acting interested? Or are they just watching it fall? Or are they eating it, but not getting all before it drops? If you thaw it in freshwater, it'll float in the water column longer giving them more of a chance.

Or possibly you might be putting to much in the tank. You only have 3 fish and hopefully a clean up crew. Or the pieces are to big for them.

yeah, you want some form of syringe or another.

I made my own. I got some stiff airline tubing, used a hair dryer to bend the end and jammed one of those 3ml syringes (comes with test kits) into the other end of the tube.

I use this to spot feed the corals. The fish are on their own ;)

I'm probably in the minority of people on this one, but I've always just broken off a small chunk and tossed it into the tank. Just make sure to pull out any chunks that aren't eaten that hit the bottom.

I thaw it and rinse in ro/di then target feed with a turkey baster. For the fish I usually just float some a little at a time. The shrimp and crabs are always waiting for the tidbits that make it to the bottom.;)
