They are found in brackish water in the wild and you are suppose to keep them in brackish water, but most LFS's don't know that.

another thing, mollies are good for cycling a saltwater set up because they are super cheap in comparison and easy to catch unlike damsels.

Try using Mono's. Beautiful fish and they thrive in SW. I had one in my SW tank for several years.

How do you convert Mollies to saltwater? How long does it take? I thought about putting them in my quarantine tank to keep it going between fish, is that ok?

Thats fine. Start a small tank, use like 1/2 cup of salt per 3g of water, over a week or so gradually bring the level up to match your tank..... Or I would just toss half a dozen in and the strong will survive. I use to do that with mollies a guppies when I used them for feeders. I had saltwater guppies for like 6 months untill my pseudo finally found them hiding behind a return.

in theory, for 3g of water, it should take 3 days to get it up to speed. I would use like 10g though, it would slowly bring the level up. Start out with 1.5 cup of salt for the 10g of water, then half a cup daily for 7 days after that.
