fruit flies by skimate yuck!!!

We'll I've notice little black fruit flies zippin around my tank.
I'm not really to found of these discusting looking little buggers...
they mainly hang out around my tank....
do you guys/girls have a similar problem and what do you guys use....
If they do drop in the DT or sump is this bad for the fish...or reef???

 

I had an out break of them for about a month or so last summer.I tried traps, sticky paper. It seem to slow them down some, it was very frustrating.Then they just went away and never came back? I have to say that at the time i saw them almost everywhere. At other peoples houses and businesses, even 50 miles away.They pretty much died out every where all at once? Life cycle? IDK?

 

really...we'll i was thinking maybe because I have plants too in the house...
before I I only had 1 plant now I have 5...
