    O.k. like I said; "as far as I can see", I have a few boxes of this laying around the house; Algone, for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and algae control in the marine aquarium. It does work to rid the tank naturally of nitrates. I guess you have Red Hair Algae or another tougher kind like bryopsis.

    sorry I did not mean to come off like that. Just simply saying that I've had some cyano before and I know what it looks like. This stuff is way harder to get rid of.

    If its not feeding off of phosphates... Nitrates are 0... Could it be some form of Calciferous Algea? (Whatever that stupid word is that I just mispelled, but you know what I'm talking about, the good kind that grows on your rocks.)
