    My take on it is if you're using food that has to have something rinsed away from it (preservatives, etc) then maybe it's time to switch foods...

    I firmly believe that the small particulate matter that comes with food like SFBB and Rod's food is good for the small mouths we have to feed, from corals to tiny invertebrates like pods, as well as many of the "filter feeders".

    I feed ~1-3 frozen cubes nightly along with nori for my tang to graze on. I use biopellets and Cheato as a means for nutrient export, my nitrates and phosphates test zero, and I don't have nuisance algae problems... I see no reason to rinse foods, as my corals and fish are healthy.

    I don't rise mine but do drain the liquid and add selcon and let it soak.
