Very nice looking tank you have MoJoe. May I ask what other kind of equipment you are running besides the Light fixture?

I can't wait until I can start a big build in a couple of years when I'm done with school. It will be possible that I can at least upgrade to my 29 gallon in a month or two.

Thanks, it's a pretty minimalist set-up, this is the exact equipment I run other than the TX5 & 70lbs of LR:

    - AquaC Remora HOB Skimmer (w/ maxi jet 1200 pump)
    - 2 Koralia Evolution pumps (750gph each)
    - TLF Phosban 150 Reactor w/ maxi jet 400 pump (Chemi Pure Elite media)
    - 300w Stealth heater

    That's it & I do a 5g water change per week & manually dose B-ionic ALK/CA/MG twice a week for maintenance.

Best of luck on your upgrade!

how do you like the chemi pure elite?? do you feel it`s worth running . I have the same TLF reactor with carbon and one with BRS ferric oxide..(not really feeling this stuff)..and have been thinking about this stuff...

Thanks, I love the Chemi Pure Elite, my PO4 is at 0 & the water is always nice and clear/clean. I basically stuff the smallest bag (11oz I think) into the reactor and replace every 4 weeks. Give it a try def.

out of curiosity, what filter(s) do you run on the tank if you do not use a sump?

thank you, I was just potty trained and felt I was ready to tackle SW fish-keeping, my parents are thrilled!

@Mariman, there is no filter running on the tank. The LR acts as your biological filtration and the skimmer pulls the gunk out of the water. IMO a filter will just end up becoming more work than help in a SW tank.
