Hey yall. I've been doing research on Fu manchu's lately, and I was looking to get some info from any possible owners or other guru's out there.. I have a 40 breeder with 2 clowns about 2 inches each, a longnose hawkfish, a yellow watchman, and a filamented wrasse in QT. My main concern is compatibility really. The guy I buy my fish from said they're great fish, easy to care for, but he would be wary putting it with the hawkfish. The hawkfish is like 3 inches, and is very friendly and can hold is own at the sametime, so I'm really not terribly worried about him. More so the yellow watchman.. He's really aware of his surrounds at all times, and is always looking around, so I don't know maybe a Fu could sneak up on it.. What thoughts do yall have? I appreciate any feedback! :)

    Thanks yall

fu manchu's are still ions all the same, meaning if they get the urge to try and put something in thier mouth, then they will try. I havent seen any sucessfully kept in mixed fish tank without someone disappearing.

A Fu will not touch any of those fish.

Buy a small to medium Fu.

I was hoping you would chime in incognito.. Thanks for the advice, thats really encouraging. Have you kept a fu yourself in a mixed reef?

Yeahh I'm still pretty up in the air about it.. I've seen a 40 that had one, and its just a really cool little fish. I'd def be running a risk putting it with my other fish, but hopefully if I feed it enough I'll keep it from getting frisky. haha.

I've seen a few mixed reefs with Fu's. They're pretty chill fish, and hopefully I can get a little 2 incher or so. Worst case scenario, he'd eat my cleaner shrimp.. And to tell you the truth, I wouldn't be too angry about that lol.

Oh, don't over read into what I'm sayIng. I'm not saying a killing spree & carnage will ensue. Just saying lion owners I know have at some point looked into Thier tanks and ..... 'now where did X go?'...... Lol.
