LOL yeahh I don't doubt that one bit. I guess that's just the risk I'd be running getting one, but I think its worth it really.. If I can find a smaller one that is! This will be my last fish for the 40 for a long while, and I'm torn btwn the Fu or a mandarin. While the mandarin would def be the safer pick, the lionfish is just so cool! I'm a big lionfish fan. If I had a bigger tank I would've had one a loonnng time ago.

Lol I knoww it. He's been acting a little better lately. Still stealin food from corals any chance he gets though. I just have to smack him away with my tweezers haha. 3 of my mushrooms are reall shriveled up bc of him pickin at em, there all instead and what not. The hawkfish has really mellowed him out somewhat. He hides out more. I've seen the hawkfish like dart around him in circles a few times, its pretty funny. I think if the hawk was bigger he'd be a goner. Hopefully, if I end up getting the Fu, it will keep the damn cleaner in check for good.

Fus are different than other lions. Their mouths are very small in comparison. Most Lions could eat a clownfish, a Fu cannot.

The Fu is just as safe a pick as the mandarin. No one on your stock list is at risk to a small/medium Fu. By the time the Fu grew to adulthood, so would the clowns. Every now and then you see a Godzilla specimen, don't get those and you'll be fine.

I cannot speak to the personalities of the other fish.... they may be a threat to the lion. I've heard hawks can be little brats.

Thats makes me feel a wholeee lot better about getting one then. Now just to find the right one.. My hawk is pretty laid back though, so I don't really anticipate any problems. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it!

But there is indeed a downfall. Fus can be very hard to convert to frozen. They are probably the hardest lion.

With the size a Fu gets you shouldn't be too worried if you start with one while it is small. If it won't fit in its mouth, then it shouldn't eat it. I'm not going to say it won't try either though. Lions are carnivores so they are hunters by nature. This could go either way and I am quite happy to have read this though. Fu are one of the smallest full grown lions I have seen so far so it may work perfectly for a build I am considering. This is really going to boil down to temperment and how he adjusts to everything else in the tank.

Good luck, now it looks I will be getting one myself.
