ive gotten rid of my GHA but now this wierd redish brownish green stuff. looks like a combo of GHA and cyano with detritus spread over it. it is really ugly and has stayed on my back wall for the most part but is now spreading over my rocks. I had a foxface that isnt touching the stuff and neither is the potters angelfish. any suggestions what it is sorry no pic. also i have an intank fuge ( pic of it on my profile under albums) pretty mucha plastic tube with holes in it. I have added caulpera in it to try to get rid of nitrate but the caulpera seems to be dieing ( or receding dramatically) it has also become an aipstasia farm in my tank. I am debating getting rid of it it is ugly and doesnt seem to be helping at all. what is everyone's input on what I should do. thanks in advance

any idea what your phosphates are measuring? if your signature is up to date, you might need to increase your cuc.

Your Phos and Nitrates are reading 0 because that algae is using them up as fast as they are being introduced. Get rid of your fuge it's not helping. Scrap and syphon as much of the algae as possible. Get some rowaphos and run it in a HOB filter or reactor. Get a stronger CUC and maybe some more flow. Cut back on your feedings to every other day. Reduce your photo period on your tank by half for awhile. Do 25% WC weekly for about a month. It might take awhile but if you do these things your problem will be solved just be patient. Your Caulpera is dieing off because the algae is consuming all the nutrients it will comeback. HTH ;)
