    Okay, I set up all the plumbing tonight and put in about 10 gallons of water!! YAY!! I can see it coming together!!

    I will get some sand, maybe kitty litter, and maybe rock, tomorrow. I'm going to order some macros from John in the future. I still need a clip on lamp and bulb. Couldn't find what I wanted at Home Depot. I also need to get something to hold the return tube onto the tank.

    I'm so excited!!

    that looks very good, KC! You can see the rubble, mangroves and the forest of chaeto on the pictures I posted above. I didn't take a pic of the sand bed, but there's 4.5" of sand mixed with kitty litter and it works just great for me. Most people don't mix it. Mine getting mixed was an accident.

    kacy you didnt want to drill the return hole too? I thought I sent the bits for that. Stinker. It would look so clean.

    It's looking good! A DSB and rock are o.k. IMO. If you add mangroves just make sure to keep the roots accessible. They have been known to find their way into and through the seals on tanks.

    Wow, surprised the roots get so crazy, good advice. Waiting for my reef cleaners shipment . . .
