Variable speed drills use clutches to help control the speed of the drill.

LOL...Glad I cleared that up for you! When you have it set to the lowest setting, hold the chuck (spinning part) and pull the trigger. The motor should run but the chuck will just click and not spin. When it is set to the higher number you will not be able to hold the chuck...it will spin in your hand! You'll see why they reccomend using the lowest setting when you drill glass. ;)

Imo a 20 high isn't a good idea. I have a 30g long and it works great. 20 high prob won't give u enough room for everything you want to run. Think in the future.

My 30 long is 36 inches long. Fits perfect. And enough room to run a 5.5g ato tank next to it. Check my build thread out.
Bigger is better for a sump.

Bright Effects 6500K from Lowes and a clip on type work light base is all you'll need. Just ditch the bell reflector because the bulbs have internal reflectors and you don't want the built in ballast to get too hot.

Get to work! I'm gonna be seriously disappointed if I get my tanks drilled before you. HAHA :p

Oh and since you haven't plumbed it yet look into running a herbie overflow. I just switched mine and it is so quiet. Best thing I've done to my tank in a while.

    Haha thanks! :)

Well this is for a fuge. I already have a 30 gallon sump.

Cool thanks! I'll look for that light.

Puhleaze, there is no way your tanks will be drilled before mine!! ;)

Yep, I already have my sump all done, so now I'm adding a fuge to it!
